Mexico City, Dec 13. — The Government of Mexico announced on Friday, through a joint communiqué with the United States, that both countries have reached an agreement under the bilateral Water Treaty. This would allow to deactivate the threat of a 5% tariff proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to the understanding, Mexico will release 249.163 million cubic meters of water, with deliveries scheduled to begin the week of December 15 and with the intention of concluding the plan before January 31, 2026.
